The San Diego Chapter of the ARCS (Achievement Rewards for College Scientists) Foundation is one of 14 chapters that are dedicated to helping the best and brightest United States students by providing graduate scholarship support in the natural sciences, medicine, and engineering. For academic year 2007-2008, ARCS Foundation chapters contributed over $4.5 million to 544 students at 43 colleges and universities.

Since the San Diego Chapter's charter began in 1985, 820 scholarships totaling $6,109,500 have been awarded to graduate and undergraduate students attending The Scripps Research Institute, San Diego State UniversityUniversity of California, San Diego, including Scripps Institution of Oceanography, and University of San Diego.  For academic year 2008-2009, the San Diego Chapter awarded $425,000 to 53 ARCS Foundation Scholars. Annual scholarship support ranges from $5,000 to $15,000.
