ARCS Forward events are personal and intimate conversations between members, current scholars, and other outstanding scientists in all STEM fields.
This ARCS Forward session features Dr. Albert Greenberg, an ARCS Scholar Alum and 2026 inductee into the ARCS Alumni Hall of Fame. While at Uber as Senior Vice President of Platform Engineering, Chief Architect Officer, and Technical Fellow, Dr. Greenberg tackled some of the company’s most important and complex technical challenges at scale. Mr. Khosrowshahi, CEO of Uber, says: “Albert is a phenomenal engineer who helped build our systems to a scale few companies ever reach, and his work and leadership made a lasting contribution to Uber’s technology organization.”
Dr. Greenberg was inducted into the ARCS Alumni Hall of Fame in honor of his pioneering role in the groundbreaking shift to today’s massive, open, highly reliable networks that power Internet backbones, the Cloud, and AI infrastructure. Dr. Greenberg has shaped generations of researchers through influential scholarship, patents, and mentorship. He says that he is proud of the recognition by ARCS of the enduring global impact of the foundational inventions that he and his teams created. Dr. Greenberg was an ARCS Scholar in 1983, supported by the Seattle Chapter.
